Tucker Hockey Statement
Information Bulletin – No: 11
Dated: Friday January 22nd, 2021
Subject: CONTINUED & INDEFINITE PAUSE to our 2021 Winter Group Hockey Programs
To Our Loyal Tucker Hockey Participants, Parents, and Hockey Friends;
The Government of Alberta in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced yesterday a further and indefinite pause to indoor group activities, which includes hockey.
Sadly again, as a result of this recent decision, “City Rinks Will Remain Closed” and all Tucker Hockey Winter group programs will continue to be postponed until further notice.
It’s a common goal for everyone to protect one another and our health care system. As we patiently wait, for the vaccine to be delivered in the months ahead; we must ensure this spike in positive Covid cases and hospitalizations does not get any worst in the days ahead.
Tucker Hockey is now resetting & planning to be back on the ice later this Winter, probably in February or March? At least we hope…
Winter Registrations:
We will be updating current registrations and accepting new registrations for our Winter programs only once we get the “green light” to start up again.
Spring Registrations:
Tucker Hockey is currently in the process of switching over our registrations to TeamSnap. Due to this, we currently do not have our Spring 2021 programs ready for registration on our website, but would be happy to email you once registration is open. Please email programs@tuckerhockey.com to request an email notification.

Next Information Bulletin:
Additional information bulletins will be published when new updates on the status of group indoor activities are provided by Alberta Health Services and any notices from the City of Calgary Parks & Recreation are issued.
We realize this has been a very disappointing time for hockey players and their families, and we wish to extend our gratitude as we deal with this uncertain time together.
Again, we THANK YOU in advance for your support, understanding and consideration as we navigate along with you; managing the uncertainties, managing our stresses and managing change during this crazy time in our lives!
Stay Healthy & Safe:
In the meantime, it’s extremely important for all of us to continue to do our part to fight this pandemic.
- Wash our hands regularly
- Wear a mask
- Maintain our physical distancing – 6 feet apart
- Eliminate social gatherings in our household and others
- Most importantly – for us to still “RESPECT” the virus
Really the top priority for everyone is our HEALTH, SAFETY, AND OVERALL WELL BEING.
During this pause in indoor hockey activities, let’s take care of our wellness. Personally, I truly miss being on the ice – especially since I typically average 500 sessions per year.
To fill this void, I have been skating at the Olympic Plaza downtown, doing early morning and early evening power walks, some strength training and reading a few good hockey & self development books. This all, while continuing to take care of the day to day Tucker Hockey business operations which includes the dynamics presented by the pandemic.
Please be kind to yourself. Don’t forget to take care of your mind, body and spirit during these challenging times!
When we receive the “Green Light” we will be ready and better equipped than ever to serve your hockey development needs!

PS – There will be better days ahead! Keep the faith. Take Care!
