This technical skills and tactical player development program builds on the skills taught in the Adult Technical Skills Hockey Program and consists of:

  • Advanced technical skills - skating, puck control, passing & shooting
  • Introduces individual offensive and defensive tactics such as:

- Walk-outs, delays, cycling, evasive skating, puck protection and position angling etc.

  • Group tactics such as breakouts, 2 on 1’s, 3 on 2’s etc.
  • Scrimmages

** For a portion of the curriculum - we will be taking requests from players

      to customize the development experience.

This may include the following technical skills such as:

skating, puck control, passing and shooting.

We will also accommodate - individual offensive and defensive tactic requests.

Note: Due to the nature of the program we will NOT be taking "group tactic" requests

such as: power play, penalty killing, etc.

Once registered please email your request(s) to programs@tuckerhockey.com

Due to the amount of ice time it takes to work on specific skills

we can only accept 1 - 2 requests per player.**

Ideally suited for but not restricted to:

  • Adult recreational hockey players of all ages who wish to advance their technical skills and learn more about the tactical side of playing the game.

Perquisite:

  • Have attended the Adult Technical Skills / Fundamentals Program
  • To feel comfortable doing the program drills and benefit from this Advanced Technical Skills & Tactical Program, participants should be able to skate comfortably with the puck and give and receive timely passes while in stride. Pivoting competently while in motion is a necessity for success as well. Majority of the drills require active skating and passing while interacting with other players

Note:

  • The on ice curriculum may vary – depending on the overall group’s skill level. Therefore, some of the more basic drills may be repeated or more advanced drills incorporated / accelerated to maximize overall players’ development.
