Subject: Easing of Restrictions in Alberta – Effective February 8th, 2021
To Our Loyal Tucker Hockey Participants, Parents, and Hockey Friends;
Finally, we are receiving some good news!!
The Government of Alberta in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced on Friday the easing of restrictions in the days ahead.
The path forward in easing provincial wide health measures will be in steps and is based on hospitalization benchmarks.
If after 3 weeks, hospitalizations are within the range of the next benchmark, decisions will be considered for moving to the next step. In a perfect world, the following dates will be the start of each step.
- Step 1 – Under 600 hospitalizations – February 8th, 2021
- Step 2 – Under 450 hospitalizations – March 1st, 2021
- Step 3 – Under 300 hospitalizations – March 22nd, 2021
- Step 4 – Under 150 hospitalizations – April 12th, 2021
Since the world we live in is far from perfect, there will be a lot of uncertainty and optimistic caution in the months ahead to advance to each Step.
Therefore, taking this unknown into consideration, we are hopeful of the following start ups for our many hockey development programs.
1 ON 1 COACHING:
Starting Monday February 8th, subject to the City of Calgary Rinks being availability, we will be able to offer our 1 on 1 Coaching Programs.
Currently, it is unclear whether group programs will be a part of Step 2 or Step 3? We will have a better idea sometime probably in the month of March.
Taking the above measures into consideration we are planning to offer the following hockey group programs in the days ahead.
2021 WINTER PROGRAMS REVISED SCHEDULE:
Minor Group Programs start – Thursday March 4th, 2021
Adult Group Programs start – Friday March 5th, 2021
Note: It will be required to reduce all our programs down to 4 on ice sessions. All current winter registrations will be prorated, and any monies that have already been paid beyond the 4 session rate will be placed on file as a credit.
We will be updating current registrations and accepting new registrations for our Winter programs only once we get the “green light” to start up again.
2021 SPRING PROGRAMS:
Minor Group Programs start – Saturday April 10th, 2021
Adult Group Programs start – Wednesday April 7th, 2021
Note: Most of our programs will consist of 8 weekly on ice sessions and finishing up mid / late June.
We will be accepting registrations for our Spring programs only once we get the “green light” to start up again. We would be happy to email you once registration is open. Please email programs@tuckerhockey.com to request an email notification.

2021 SUMMER PROGRAMS:
Minor Group Programs start – Tuesday August 3rd, 2021
Adult Group Programs start – Monday August 23rd, 2021
Note: Most of our programs will consist of 5 on ice sessions per week and operate over a 7-week period this Summer up to September 17th, 2021.
We will be accepting registrations for our Summer programs only once we get the “green light” to start up again. We would be happy to email you once registration is open. Please email programs@tuckerhockey.com to request an email notification.
CREDITS ON FILE:
For our loyal Tucker Hockey clients who have credits on file from previously cancelled programs. At this time, we will be offering a “2-week window” for priority registrations for our Spring programs before opening registration to the general public. This 2-week window will run from Friday February 5th through until Thursday February 18th. You can take advantage of priority registration and secure a spot in our Spring program(s) by emailing programs@tuckerhockey.com. If you register for a Spring program and our programs are not able to run due to restrictions, we will be placing your credit back on file.

We will not be accepting any priority registrations for Winter 2021 Programs until we have a better idea on if we will be able to run them.
Note: All credits will be honoured until December 31st, 2023.
NEXT INFORMATION BULLETIN:
We are moving forward with a progressive and optimistic approach to running our hockey development programs; however, we are operating in a very uncertain environment. Progressing from Step 1 to Step 2 etc. will require our continued best efforts to fight this pandemic and there are certainly no guarantees that we will progress smoothly from Step to Step.
We will be staying on top of all future developments good and bad in the weeks ahead. We will publish additional information bulletins in a timely manner whenever new updates on the status of group indoor hockey activities are provided by Alberta Health Services and / or any notices from the City of Calgary Parks & Recreation are issued etc.
Yes, it is encouraging to see a plan for “The Path Forward” presented by the Alberta Government.
TEAMWORK:
However, in the meantime, it is more important than ever for all of us to continue to do our part to fight this pandemic.
- Wash our hands regularly
- Wear a mask
- Maintain our physical distancing – 6 feet apart
- Eliminate social gatherings in our household and others
- Most importantly – for us to still “RESPECT” the virus
When we receive the “Green Light” to start up our group programs whether Winter, Spring or Summer, we will be ready and better equipped than ever to serve your hockey development needs!
