Tucker Hockey Statement

Information Bulletin – No: 9

Dated: Tuesday December 1st, 2020

Subject: Cancellation of our 2020 Fall Group Hockey Programs

To Our Loyal Tucker Hockey Participants, Parents, and Hockey Friends;

The Government of Alberta in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) announced last week a further pause to indoor group activities, which includes hockey.

This extended 3 week pause will run from Friday November 27 to Friday December 18, 2020.

Sadly, as a result of this recent decision, all Tucker Hockey Fall group programs are now cancelled.

While we are extremely disappointed with this shutdown, we understand the reasons why and support all Albertans during this second wave. We must ensure this spike in positive Covid cases and hospitalizations does not get any worst in the weeks and months ahead.

From our perspective, the health and safety of our participants, parents, instructors, and community is of paramount importance. Tucker Hockey has worked extremely hard on guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of our participants and instructors. Thankfully, because of everyone’s due diligence, we have not experienced any Covid cases or spread within our programs. We hope we will be back on the ice for January 2021 to start up our Winter group programs.

2021 WINTER PROGRAMS SCHEDULED:

Stay Healthy & Safe:

In the meantime, it’s extremely important for all of us to do our part to fight this pandemic.

  • Wash our hands regularly
  • Wear a mask
  • Maintain our physical distancing – 6 feet apart
  • Try to reduce our social circles to our household
  • Most importantly – for us to respect the virus

Really the top priority for everyone is our HEALTH, SAFETY, AND OVERALL WELL BEING.

Coach Rex

PS – Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. No indoor group hockey. Maybe an outdoor rink, a frozen pond, street hockey or other outdoor exercise can fill the interim void! Yes, we may get knocked down, but we ALWAYS manage to get up to go one more round!

See you on the ice in 2021!
