“Making a Difference / Giving Back”

Supporting Minor Hockey Tournament & Yearbook Fundraising:

Over the past 20 years we have supported numerous Fall, Christmas and Spring minor hockey tournament organizers with their local team fundraising endeavours. We have generously donated numerous gift certificates for live auction items, silent auction items and for heart and hustle awards. Tucker Hockey gift certificates have ranged from $25 to $2,000 in hockey value.

Tournament Sponsorship –
Simons Valley Pee Wee AA Tournament – Dec 13-15th, 2019

In addition to tournament sponsorship, we have backed Tucker Hockey alumni players who have progressed to play Quadrant Hockey by advertising in their Yearbook fundraisers. We have purchased in excess of $5,000 of advertising space over the past two decades.

Altruism:

For 7 years from 2008 to 2014, Tucker Hockey was proud to be the event sponsor and volunteer organizer of the Kids Hockey Advancement Society Annual Golf Tournament which raised in excess of $160,000 for various local charitable causes mainly KidSport Calgary. Coach Rex personally dedicated over 1,000 hours of his volunteer time and efforts to promote philanthropy and raise social consciousness about the less fortunate children in the Calgary Hockey Community and to help provide them with opportunities to play hockey and other sports.

Pay-It-Forward:

Since 2004 we have offered Tucker Hockey Classic Awards via the Bradley Mersereau Memorial Adult Awards and Danny Cammack Memorial Minor Awards. We have offered over 100 free Tucker Hockey group programs to various minor and adult hockey players, giving back more than $30,000 in hockey value.

In addition, each year starting in 2015, we have distributed over $20,000 to the Calgary grassroots hockey community, via KidSport Calgary & to each Calgary minor hockey association. In partnerships with KidSport Calgary – we donated 6 Spring and 12 Summer hockey programs worth $6,000, with Calgary Minor Hockey – we donated 1 Free Hockey Program to EVERY minor hockey association worth $10,000, and we also donated T.H.E. Way Awards – 2 Free Year – Round Tucker Hockey Program Scholarships worth $4,000. In total, giving back over $20,000 in hockey value to the Calgary grassroots hockey community EVERY YEAR!

Food Bank Drive Initiative:

We started up our inaugural Food Bank Donation drive at the local rink in the Spring of 2019. With our Spring program participant’s generosity we were able to collect many boxes of non – perishable food items as well as $190 of monetary donations. This went a long way to support Calgarians in need. Due to Covid – 19 and the cancellation of our Spring of 2020 we did not have an opportunity this year; however, we are definitely planning to continue this very worthy cause in the years ahead.

Enriching the lives of Tucker Hockey participants by instilling a sense of belonging, expressing our passion and love for the game of hockey, imparting valuable life skills, and assist in manifesting our participant’s desire to improve their skills all the while cultivating a harmonious community of like-minded individuals and lasting goodwill / philanthropy.

Giving Back – financially as well; in excess of $400,000 to the local Calgary community.
