Subject:  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – Cancellation of All Winter Programs 

To Our Loyal Tucker Hockey Participants, Parents and Hockey Friends;

With growing concern about the COVID – 19 leading to uncertainty, stress and restrictions on public gatherings, sporting events and general public activities, we wish to assure you that Tucker Hockey has been closely monitoring the situation on a day to day basis.

We are following and respecting the lead, expertise and recommendations of our Alberta Health Services and the Canadian Public Health Authorities.

Currently, our Alberta Government is now moving forward with more aggressive measures to help slow the spread of COVID -19 in Alberta.

As of yesterday, March 15th the following directives have been made:

  • Student attendance at K to 12 schools is prohibited and in person post secondary classes are cancelled
  • All licensed childcare facilities, out of school care programs and preschool programs are closed indefinitely

As well the City of Calgary declared a State of Emergency yesterday evening to support the Province of Alberta’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID – 19 which included:

  • All City of Calgary recreational facilities are ordered closed until further notice

Due to the above measures, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, we are forced to CANCEL our Winter Programs which include all minor and adult group programs and 1 on 1 coaching programs.

Nevertheless, we are still hopeful that we will be able to continue our Spring and Summer Programs in the months ahead.

Spring Programs:

1 on 1 Coaching Programs start up – Wednesday April 8th, 2020

Adult Group Programs start up – Wednesday April 8th, 2020

Minor Group & 3 on 3 Programs start up – Saturday April 18th, 2020

Summer Programs:

1 on 1 Coaching Programs start up – Monday July 27th, 2020

Minor Group Programs start up – Tuesday August 4th, 2020

Adult Group Programs start up – Monday August 17th, 2020

OPEN COMMUNICATIONS:

We will be sending out blanket updates in the days ahead as things unfold in a very quick and changing world. This will keep you informed on how COVID-19 is affecting the Tucker Hockey World in delivering quality hockey development services to you and our many loyal hockey friends.

FAIR COMPENSATION:

Our updates will include information on offsetting customers for City of Calgary cancelled Winter on ice sessions. Tucker Hockey will strive to offer our customers an offset from cancelled sessions. This endeavour will be aligned in accordance with what the City of Calgary offers Tucker Hockey for compensation.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we begin to sort things out.

In the meantime, the top priority for everyone is the HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELL BEING of the general public.

Prevent the Spread:

We are encouraged to protect ourselves and others by doing.

  • Social Distancing. 
  • Stay at home and away from others – especially if sick.

Health symptoms to be aware of include – but not limited to:

  • Sore Throat
    • Cough
    • Difficulty Breathing
    • Fever

If you have any of these symptoms, PLEASE STAY HOME and take care of yourself.
