Concussion is quite common in sport in general but there is no doubting the fact that it can be a highly prevalent issue in youth ice hockey. Ice hockey is a contact sport, involves rigorous movement and physical action so it’s easy to see why this is a thing. While concussion is likely to always be a concern, there are ways players, coaches and the parents of younger players can help to prevent it happening but also ways they can learn to treat its possible symptoms.
