2025 Q2 Adult Hockey

Bradley Mersereau

Memorial Award

Recipient:

Jon Love

Published September 18, 2025

This award is named the “Brad Memorial”. It is in memory of Bradley Mersereau, who was an avid participant in Tucker Hockey Adult Programs. Brad never represented himself as a great skater, or, for that matter, a good hockey player. He just loved getting out and being active. He always found a healthy balance between family, work and the enjoyment of hockey. He was a “true friend” and “hockey enthusiast”.

Congratulations Jon!

About Jon:

As a youth, I was never able to participate in organized hockey and have craved that experience ever since. In 2010 I started this journey when I signed up for my first hockey fundamentals course with Tucker Hockey.  That journey continues to this day with my fourth course at Tucker recently completed.

Tucker promises education in many aspects of the sport. Skating, passing and shooting are all fundamental skills taught, but learning how to encourage and support others while being part of a team has proven just as valuable to me.

Hockey has become an integral part of my fitness journey and continues to motivate me to stay active. When it’s time for a Tucker session, I always find myself arriving to the rink early, getting fully dressed ahead of time and watching the Zamboni finish dressing the ice in anticipation of the on-ice privilege that awaits.

I am forever grateful for the experience Tucker has provided and honoured to be seen as embodying the qualities for which Bradley Mersereau is remembered.

Editor’s Note:

Congratulations Jon on being the recipient of the Q3 Bradley Mesereau Memorial Award!

Glad you have enjoyed the Tucker Hockey Way and our on ice development experience.

The fundamentals of skating, puck control, passing and shooting are critical to developing into a good hockey player.

Keep enjoying your time at the rink. You are a good student. Keep learning the game!

See you on the ice again this upcoming season.

Best wishes.
